National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)

Alcan Builders constructed the 20,000 SF Fairbanks Satellite Operations Facility used to track weather satellites. The building consisted of a complex state of the art computer room, offices, restrooms, and a conference room.

AANG Valdez Antenna Tower & Base

Alaska Army National Guard contracted Alcan to install an owner supplied antenna tower in Valdez, AK. We erected the base and tower and completed the project on time and under budget. This is one of many projects we have performed for the Army National Guard and Air National Guard.

Design-Build F-35A Aerospace Ground Equipment Facility and Fillstand

This project includes a 25,058 SF world-class maintenance facility and a 10,000 gallon above-ground fuel storage tank with four pump stations. The facility utilizes exceptional structural design with attractive architectural features to provide a welcoming and comfortable work environment for airmen to service aircraft support equipment. A clear-span construction concept allows a 3-ton bridge crane to operate freely over 6,000 SF serving 16 work bays, and separate rooms provide a welding/run-up bay and a 45-feet long wash bay with an internal fill station to rapidly fill 3,000-gallon water tanks on deicer vehicles. 12,000 SF of interior parking and storage allow year-around protection and operational readiness for vehicles and equipment. Offices, conference rooms, and personnel rooms are constructed with advanced sound-dampening for quiet environments to routine conduct business without background noise or interference.

Design-Build F-35A Satellite Dining Facility

This gem provides airmen an inviting dining area nestled in this industrial area of Eielson AFB. The big windows, bright lights and snappy color scheme enhance the functionality of the high through-put eatery. At 4,700 SF, the building may be small compared to traditional dining facilities; however, the infrastructure, assets and storage allow service personnel to pass over 900 meals per day in grab-and-go containers. The storage includes walk-in freezer and cooler capacities as well as substantial dry-storage. The project included a 200-feet long blast deflector fence to protect the building, employees and patrons from jet blast of nearby taxiing aircraft. The serving line provides a full compliment of beverages, cold and hot foods and made-to-order meals, and seating is available for 20 people indoors and another 12 at picnic tables outside the entry.

BLM Alaska Fire Service Covered Storage

Coordinating construction through Alaska’s 2019 wild fire season, we constructed 4 new covered storage structures at the BLM Alaska Fire Service located on Ft. Wainwright, Alaska. The project also included the relocation and piping of (4) 10,000 gallon fuel tanks, new recycled asphalt paving, and fencing.
